RSL Poppy Service

Any person who has served in the Australian Defence Force can be honoured with a RSL Poppy Service.

The Australian National Flag will be placed on the casket, the hoist or jack must be placed over the left shoulder of the deceased.

The RSL Poppy Service will take place during the Funeral Service in this order:

• An RSL representative will deliver a eulogy, detailing the veteran’s service information
• They will then recite THE ODE and
• Sound THE LAST POST and ROUSE
• The congregation will then be invited to place a poppy on the casket.

Once the RSL Poppy Service is completed the Brisbane Funeral Service will continue.

In the final part of the funeral service the Australian Flag will be removed from the casket, folded and then given to the family of the veteran.

This service can be included with any of our cremation or burial funeral services, simply advise your funeral director of your wishes.
